The cat lived with a family in which several members had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. The cat was taken to a veterinary hospital with marked respiratory signs and a rectal temperature of 38.2 C.

Blood results showed marked anaemia and thrombocytopaenia. Radiography revealed a broncho-interstitial pattern with increased opacity throughout the lungs. The cat’s condition deteriorated, and he was euthanased and sent for post-mortem (Biosecurity level 3).
